I was coming home with my son from Omaha College World series this weekend and had to fly through St. Louis. Obviously, I had on my Buffs hat. When I jumped in line for my southwest flight, I hear a "Go Buffs" from behind me. I turn around and reply with a "Go Buffs" of my own. I then realize its Rick George who said it. I have to admit, I was a little awe struck because I am such a big fan of what he has done for CU in his short time here. He was in STL with his family to watch the Texas Rangers sweep the Cards. The best part was that he was at the game on Sunday wearing his CU Gear.
I only talked to him for a couple mins, but he was a super friendly guy. He also stressed how important it was to get the football program back into the conversation...before I even mentioned anything about football.
It was a cool experience that only happens because of my trusty buffs baseball cap! I will be sure to teach this lesson to my kids...
