With a lot of time to go before the end of the day, it's already shaping up to be a busy one as far as new offers dished out to Class of 2023 prospects is concerned.
Furthermore, now that Karl Dorrell's staff is now formally rounded out, thanks to Tuesday's hiring of Phil McGeoghan as receivers coach, many of Dorrell's new assistants have started to send out their first offers as coaches at Colorado.
Below is a brief exploration of many of the players who now hold offers from the Buffaloes.
Let's start with McGoeghan's day thus far, which has featured three offers to very high profile wide receivers, all of whom rank within the Rivals250 for the Class of 2023.
McGeoghan offered Carnell Tate, a four-star receiver out of IMG Academy in Florida who to date has reeled in nearly 35 offers. Tate ranks as the No. 14 prospect in the nation — not just at receiver — while among his position group, he is listed at No. 3 across the U.S. for 2023.
Tate's list of big-time Power Five offers — from Alabama to Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pitt and Texas — speaks for itself. He now adds Colorado to his already very long list of suitors.
Next to receive an offer from McGeoghan was Omarion Miller, another four-star wideout who hails from Vivian (North Caddo) La. Miller committed to his home state LSU Tigers last summer, but is starting to see his recruitment intensify, with CU, Nebraska and Tennessee being his most recent offers.
McGeoghan hasn't worked in college since 2016 (East Carolina) but that is looking far from a handicap early on based on his first batch of offers issued.
Finally, four-star receiver Adarius Redmond out of Powell, Tenn., also was offered by McGeoghan on Wednesday. He ranks as the No. 173 prospect in the country for 2023 as well as the No. 26 receiver nationwide.
Half of the SEC has already offered him; Colorado is his first Pac-12 opportunity.
New tight ends coach/passing game coordinator Clay Patterson also began his recruiting work at CU with a bang, as his inaugural offer went out to four-star Class of 2023 tight end Reid Mikeska, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound prospect from Bridgeland, Texas.
Mikeska has offers from Baylor, K-State, Pitt, Texas Tech and others.
McGeoghan and Patterson haven't been the only Colorado coaches busy on the recruiting trail today — far from it.
Cornerbacks coach Rod Chance also has been active, issuing an offer to Darius Thomas Jr., a three-star defensive back from Miramar, Fla. Thomas as a 5.7RR and offers from FAU, Georgia and Texas A&M, among others.
D-line coach Vic So'oto on Wednesday offered Wayne Peart (no relation to the legendary late Rush drummer/lyricist, to my knowledge), a defensive tackle from Hollywood (Chaminade Madonna) Fla.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Peart's recruitment started to take off only recently but at any rate, CU joins Syracuse, Pitt and Penn State in having offered him.
......
I'll stop here for now. Just wanted to illustrate how Colorado's new coaches have started to hit the recruiting trail, which has been highlighted by McGeoghan, for sure.
Some others to recently receive CU offers:
McGeoghan:
Hagan/Sanford:
Unsure which CU coach issued this one to be honest...
