Buffs defensive graduate assistant Aziz Shittu, from a resume point of view, is exactly the kind of guy you'd want to assist with coaching the linemen. He is pretty fresh out of the NFL, where he was presented with a Super Bowl LII ring by the Eagles for his contributions on the practice squad.

Before that, Shittu enjoyed a solid collegiate career at Stanford, earning first-team All-Pac-12 honors as a senior in 2015 as well as winning defensive Rose Bowl MVP that year.

All in all, Shittu has the football experience to make him a valuable asset next to Chris Wilson.

As he spends more time with the Buffs, it does also appear that from a personality standpoint, he fits in nicely.

Look at what Aaron Horne, son of former CU walk-on OLB Luke Horne (who transferred a few months ago) recently tweeted at him:

If players no longer within the program and their parents are reaching out to say thanks, that usually is indicative of something special.

Sophomore defensive tackle Jalen Sami also has this to say of Shittu:

“He brings a different energy. He connects to us on a different level. And it’s all love with Aziz — he makes us laugh, he jokes around with us every day, so we look forward to seeing him as we come in every day and he looks forward to seeing us.”

Shittu can be seen here and there on the recruiting trail and he definitely is a locker room favorite among the players — someone who's down to have fun and laugh but also who commands the respect of those he coaches.
