Pomona running back Max Borghi hit the camp trail this summer to five different schools and used his skills to stand out in front of coaches at the next level.
"I've gone to CU, CSU, Stanford, Oregon State, and Utah actually. I think I did very well and the coaches liked me. I had good times at all the camps. Utah really liked me. I did good in all the combine drills and had a good time."
Borghi was able to get some contact with the coaches at Colorado while in Boulder.
"Me and Coach MacIntyre had a chance to talk. He thanked me for coming and was happy to see me. He really liked how I did. I also talked to Coach Hagan."
Four of those same programs were named by Borghi as the ones after him on the recruiting trail.
"I'd say the University of Utah, CU, CSU, and Oregon State."
Borghi has enjoyed the attention he has received from the Buffs so far.
"I think they really like me a lot. They have shown some good interest but they haven't offered or anything yet."
Boulder is one of the places that Borghi hopes to get back to during the fall.
"I will be going to a CU game and they said that they'd give me tickets to some of their games. I also might try to get to a Utah game as well."
There were a number of colleges that Borghi kept an eye on growing up but one in-state program stood out overall.
"I followed Stanford and I also really liked Florida State. I have also been a Utah fan the last couple of years and obviously CU and CSU because they are home state schools. If I had to pick one, I’d say CU."
