Playoffs moving forward

So we all have seen the projections using 2023. All P2 save the 3 other auto bids. Feels safe to say next year likely the same unless maybe the ACC or BIG XIi get two in (the ACC today seems to have the better case today).

With 21 of the top 25 recruiting classes being P2 the future doesn’t look much different.
Let’s assume the minority opinion is correct and the breakaway is more tv contract based and the ACC the same thing - tv holds them together.

That means about 7-8 years of this set up. Is this really what people want? Does it make fans and donors want to pay millions to fight for kids that aren’t going to be enough to get you there, and even if you get there you can’t beat 8 of the other 11 teams most days.

My question is how do people want to see it fixed?
16 teams instead of 12?
A limit on how many one conference can have ?
A break away of a small group so we have two sets of leagues and more competitiveness for those not in the break away?

Any other solutions?

12 teams had people who didn’t look closely excited and believing it meant more parity. Now that even those people have been shown that it will still be the same group of teams we are pulling from is this satisfactory?

I don’t think so

OL Discussion

It's December 15th. Here is a starting point for the OL discussion:

T - Savion Washington: 6'8" 320lbs: PFF 66.7 - Got better as the season went and when healthy I think a solid player.
T - Tyler Johnson: 6'5" 320lbs: PFF 65.7 - 247Sports grade 90; No Rivals grade. PFF not impressive to me.
T - Kahlil Benson: 6'6" 310lbs: PFF 60.5 - 247Sports grade 87; Rivals grade 5.5. PFF is bad. Not sure how he fits.
T - Issiah Walker: 6'5" 290lbs: no PFF grade - 247Sports grade #2 JUCO Tackle. I have no opinion yet.
T - Jordan Seaton: 6'6" 285lbs: High School - 247Sports grade #1 OL in class; Rivals grade 6.1. NFL talent.
G - Matthew Bedford: 6'6" 305lbs: PFF 69.2 - 247Sports grade 88; Rivals grade 5.5. 93rd PFF for Guards in the country. Solid starter.
G - Justin Mayers: 6'3" 309lbs: PFF 77.9 - 247Sports grade 88; Rivals grade 5.8. 19th PFF for Guards in the country. Solid starter.
C - Yakiri Walker: 6'1" 267lbs: PFF 65.1 - 247Sports grade 88; no Rivals grade. PFF not impressive to me. Not as good as Wells.

Still hoping for a couple more portal guys and a flip from JacQawn McRoy.

TCU freshman receiver Cordale Russell is Colorado's latest transfer addition after his weekend visit to Boulder. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound wideout from Mesquite, Texas played in three games a freshman with the Horned Frogs but didn't record any stats. He will have four years of eligibility left with the Buffs.

He signed as a member of the 2023 class with TCU and was rated as a four-star prospect and the 19th-best receiver in the class by Rivals. He was rated No. 130 overall in the Rivals250 for 2023.

Some quarterback depth for the Buffs as Vanderbilt quarterback Walter Taylor has announced his transfer commitment to Colorado following a visit to Boulder. Taylor checks in at 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds and will have three seasons to play at CU. He redshirted in 2022 as a freshman and played in five games this season mostly as a running threat. He rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown this year.

As a passer, he went 5 for 15 for 44 yards an an interception.

Taylor is the 14th commitment for the Buffs through the transfer portal and the second addition from Vandy alongside receiver Will Sheppard.

Transfer Portal '23-'24 thoughts

Hello fellow Buffs die hards. I don't post or comment often, but enjoy 'most' of y'alls opinions and research and banter.

Now: I'm loving almost all the new transfers so far. More coming this cycle and likely in May, too.

Already 11 in. Aside from Buff's outgoing seniors and the transfers so far, it seems like Prime is expecting a LOT more attrition, right?

Too busy lately, haven't taken time yet to look at how much of our 85 scholarships are filled. Anyone know what kind of numbers we're working with?

Who else do y'all think will transfer out?

Portal closes 01/02 intil May and there will still be some big names transferring when the playoffs and NY6 games are over... I feel like we need to leave some spots open for the 2nd cycle and for the HS recruiting class...

Am I completely wrong for thinking this?

PS: The transfers I'm not sold on are the center from UCONN and the WR Timmons from NC State. Feel like we could have waited for another center? WR? Stacked. I assume they're anticipating Horn to NFL and a few frosh transfers like Hardge or Waseem or onobughe (i probably misspelled that)

The IU and UH o-linemen should provide great depth. Highly likely two are starters immediately. If not 3. But I would love to wait and see if we can get a few more veteran P5 transfers on both sides of the line from some of the top programs.

Have a good weekend, folks. Sko Buffs!

Happy start to bowl season everyone!
