@Adam Gorney provides his thoughts on Sanders’ potential at Colorado. I agree South Florida would be a more reasonable route with his relevancy in that area.
Saving Colorado is the ultimate challenge in CFB, but I think Sanders is up for this challenge because 1) it’s a good opportunity for him to expand into the western region and 2) what an incredible resume builder, claiming that you turned around the worst team in the country. Yes there’s a lot to fix with CU’s program, but with his recruiting tactics, leadership and CU’s resources, I think Sanders and Boulder are a successful pairing. He may not get every 4/5 star recruit, but he’ll bring in a quality QB and other talents in order to build for the future.
If Sanders saves CU, he’ll be one of the most lucrative, desired coaches in the nation. He can have his own HGTV show perhaps like flip or flop, where he goes into desperate programs and turns them into nationally relevant teams lol!
Yes there is
risk involved with both parties, but the rewards are substantial.
