Roundtable: Colorado heads to Arizona as road underdog in Week 8 matchup

After a close loss against then-No. 18 Kansas State, Colorado is looking to get back on track as it heads out to face Arizona on its own turf.

Here’s what @Troy Finnegan and I will be watching:

Time for CBWRTH & QBSS to step up

CBWRTH and QBSS have the ability to carry any College team, they need to step up.

THe number one thing QBSS needs to do, is to take control of his sacks and reduce the pressure on a marginal and still developing OL. He needs to default to a 3 second timeframe to get rid of the ball on every passing snap. He can do this easily, and 1 of his stable of outstanding WRs, on a hot route will get open for some kind of gain, 95% of the time. Throwing the ball aggressively all game against a good defense focused on pressuring him and flushing him from the pocket (i.e. KSU), he completed 85% of his passes for 9.7 yds/pass. Yikes! THis offense is unstoppable if QBSS and OCPS can show the patience required to stay on schedule and elinimate sacks. Pass plays should default to 3 seconds and hitting the hot receiver or an RB out of the backfield. If QBSS drops back and senses a solid pocket andno pressure, then he can wait for a deeper route, but otherwise GET RID OF THE BALL, get 4-6 yds and move the chains. Dont get flushed.THis will soften the pass rush, probably allow a more effective running game, show incredible maturity/intelligence, and improve his Heisman and draft prospects. Everyone knows QBSS has arm talent and can complete passes at every level, so now the time is to win games and carry the team.

THe number one things cbwrth can do in order to carry the team is to stay healthy. Everyone knows he is a top 5 draft pick as either a WR or a CB. Since he's needed more on D than O, he needs to reduce his O snaps to improve his probablity of staying healthy. CBTH can carry the defense and we need him to lock down 1/2 the field so the other 10 guys can do their thing. Offensive snaps are bonus snaps for the team.I know he needs to get some O snaps to keep his own Heisman prospects increasing but team first, right. Stay healthy, get the W and move on.

Both these guys cant afford many more losses or they will both be out of the Heisman race so they should both focus on maximizing the Wins. We all wouldnt mind that either. Every snap with QBSS running around to save his life and then chucking the ball out of bounds or with CBWRTH on the sidelines without his helmet, our chances at a W precipitously drop.

Great slate this weekend

There are a ton of good games this weekend.

UL vs Miami and Nebraska vs Indiana kick it off. Seems every confercne has some intriguing matchups beyond just the big games we all know are happening in Austin and Knoxville.

What’s everyone looking forward to watching besides CU.
Nebraska
ASU
KSU
UT
Bama
LSU
Utah

All have games I look forward to. Trying to catch a little here and there of each. The playoff makes the regular season so much better now with how big the leagues are and the fact 2 losses doesn’t keep you out (except overrated ND which if they played anyone would have two losses and be out - please baby Jesus ).
