There is a new book out on the North Carolina cheating scandal. A book review was in the weekend WSJ if you want to check it out. But what of interest for Pac 12 purposes is comments made by the reviewer at the end of the article. He pointed out that the graduate rates for USC basketball players is 25% and football players 35%. Why is this a big deal he asked because after all, don't all these football players go on to huge paydays in the NFL. Turns out only 2/3 of SC football players never get drafted. And he made the point that this is exploitation of the worst kind because a degree adds one million to a person's life time income. Starry eyed teenagers that SC brings in are absolutely convinced they are destined for the NFL.
