Mark Smith recently issued an offer to the No. 1 ILB in the Class of 2024, four-star prospect Payton Pierce out of Lucas, Texas (Lovejoy High). He's already got quite a few major players on his trail and has been busy this spring checking out programs like Arkansas and Wisconsin.
Also keep in mind that Smith is after another four-star 2024ILB, Anthony Speca out of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. As a Central alum, naturally I'm keeping as much of a tab on Speca as possible. Pitt, Penn State and Notre Dame are all currently battling for Speca but hopefully he can get out to CU sometime for a visit.
Either one of these guys could be a cornerstone get for the 2024 class.
