Started off kind of slow and couldn't hit a bucket to save their lives early in the game going like 1 for 10. Missed more bunny layups in this one than I've quite frankly seen in a while, but still put the Bruins away with a suffocating defense and a heroic game from Jaylyn Sherrod. Sherrod had 25 points and 8 assists and was quite frankly the best player on the court.

I'll say, the difference between this CU team and past teams is the point guard play. Both Sherrod and super star freshman Kindyll Wetta are superb ball handlers and on ball defenders. I'm pretty sure I mentioned Wetta before in many posts this summer about CU finally keeping the state's top player at home for the first time in forever. Her knee injuries probably scared away UCLA and Stanford. Their loss and CU's gain. She is way ahead of where I thought she would be at this point.

CU was still short handed in this game with a couple of bench players like Sadler unavailable, but I believe they will be back just in time for Stanford. I believe CU will be in the top 25 poll this week just for the simple reason of the Stanford game coming up and CU getting some media attention for it having beaten them last year. They'll finally take note of our 13-0 start and vote us in (they had us in the top 25 when we were 8-0 and then decided to take us out which is weird). The Stanford game could be the game of the year for the Buffs. It will certainly be the game of the year so far in the Pac 12 (until Zona plays Stanford anyway).
