The Buffaloes may not be done just yet in recruiting tight ends for the Class of 2022. Right now, Zach Courtney, a 6-foot-7, 235-pound prospect from Post, Texas, remains the lone tight end committed at the moment but Bryan Cook has his eyes on another Lone Star State player.

That would be Hayden Hansen, a 6-foot-6, 255-pound prospect hailing from Weatherford, Texas, east of Dallas.

The Buffs, Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas State and UTSA currently comprise the programs to have offered him and he told me recently that an official visit to CU is likely on the horizon.

"(Cook and I) have talked a few times," he said. "I am waiting to take an official visit once the season starts, so we will be in contact in-person pretty soon. The ideal (weekend) is their game against Texas A&M — that's when I'd take it, for now."

Hansen's offer from Cook is rather recent, as he announced it on June 26. Given his offer sheet, the Buffs should be the shiny object for him at this point in time and he seems excited about getting that OV in.

Cook is not Taylor Embree. They're two different guys and coaches, with differing styles. That's not always a bad thing, but Embree certainly was a bit flashier on the recruiting trail, in terms of the guys he sought out and pursued.

Hanses strikes me as more of a multi-faceted tight end than Courtney, specifically when it comes to the pass game; i.e., getting open and running routes often.

Either way, consider Hansen the main guy on Cook's radar as fall camp gets ready to kick off.
