With the NFL draft approaching, thought I would look back at his decision. I strongly believe he would be a 1st round draft pick this year. There were just a ton of top WRs last year. Draft was 12 deep with 1st round talent. This year is quite a different story. It isn't nearly as deep of a draft. Sure, he could have gotten hurt like he did as a pro, but so could any top WR in any year. What is the percentage of WRs seriously injured each year playing division I football? If he had another stellar year and no doubt would have looking at the numbers Spruce put up (he would have had less double teams with Spruce on the other side playing like that), I have little doubt that he would have gone in the 1st round and secured a top dollar contract. Don't get me wrong, he signed a great deal at 4 years 4.7 milly with 2.3 milly guaranteed, but even the last player picked in the 1st round doubled the guaranteed money and was over 2 million more in salary. If he got up into the top 15-20, he would have made serious bank.

Also, looking at it, how good would CU have been with P-Rich? How many of those super close losses are close victories with P-Rich? Do we really lose to CSU with P-Rich? Do they have to play so deep that we suddenly are able to run the ball and passes over the middle are open all day? Do we make the big plays necessary to beat ASU? Do all those OT games even go into OT? Do we put the hammer on Utah and Oregon State? I'm thinking we go 6-6 and go bowling for the first time since 2007 if he had stayed. I know he doesn't play defense, but sometimes a great offense, is a good defense. He and Spruce would have killed it and the running game would have been the big beneficiary. P-Rich likely graduates, adds a bowl game, and adds 1st round money to his resume. Damn... if only!
