Top 2017 Commitment and Top Remaining Target
Review of Colorado's 2017 class
Colorado's The Rise has been very impressive not only on the field, but in terms of recruiting. They have already landed 19 commitments with two 4-Stars. The one strength of their recruiting class this year, has been their ability to draw commitments from the State of Texas. 1st year Co-Offensive Coordinator Darrin Chiaverini who spent time at Texas Tech is a big reason why. In terms of a weakness recruiting wise, they have not yet landed a defensive tackle which is their biggest recruiting priority.
Top 2017 commit(s)
Jaylon Jackson is their top rated recruit by Rivals.com, but he has not played since his sophomore year as he has been injury plagued while in high school, however his coach tells our staff that many big time schools are still recruiting him despite him seeing the field during his senior season. Jackson out of Cedar Hill, Texas is a 5-10, 160 pound speed to burn receiver with big time play making ability. When healthy he can turn a short screen into a 70-yard touchdown.
Top remaining target
Greg Rogers out of Arbor View, Nevada. The 6-foot-4, 305 pound defensive tackle just took his official visit to Colorado and he seemed to love what Colorado is building. Some of CU's top recruits were also there this weekend which helps land what everyone feels is Colorado's biggest recruiting priority: A defensive tackle that can come in a play right away in 2017. Still has official visits to USC, UCLA, and Arizona State lined up. If Colorado can beat even 2 out of 3 of those teams and remain ranked throughout the rest of the season, Colorado has a shot.
