Patrick Moody is a 6-foot-2, 212-pound linebacker prospect from the Class of 2017. I called him because I heard Moody was an in-state recruit to watch. He recorded 162 tackles, nine sacks, five fumble recoveries and one interception in 10 games as a sophomore at Parker (Colo.) Chaparral. Very impressive stat line. It turns out Moody moved from Colorado to Fort Lauderdale in January. He went from being one of the top players in his conference in Colorado to now simply fighting for a starting job at his new school in Florida. "I don't want to sound like I was overwhelmed or anything but it is very different out here," he said of spring practices in his new home. "I came out here and the kids are so fast. We have two five-star recruits and two four-star recruits on the team. There is a slot receiver and two running backs that are just so fast." Buffs safeties coach Joe Tumpkin stopped by his school during the spring evaluation period. Moody hopes to hear from CU and other Pac-12 schools in the future. His dream school is Arizona.
