I heard Lorenzo Burns, a three-star athlete prospect from Temecula (Calif.) Linfield Christian School, lined up an unofficial visit to Colorado so I gave him a ring. He is coming out to Boulder on July 24. "I heard they have new facilities coming and the coach I have been talking to, [cornerbacks] coach [Charles] Clark, told me they are almost finished. So I can't wait to see the facilities. There has been some talk about them being the best in the nation," Burns said. "I heard Colorado is a beautiful place. .... I have a friend that goes there right now. He doesn't play sports but he said he is loving the University." Burns has 15 other offers. He also plans to visit Wisconsin later this month before determining his official visit plans. Right now Burns is not willing to name recruiting favorites. He is being recruited by some colleges as a wide receiver and others as a cornerback. He'd prefer to play wide receiver. Burns impressed the Buffs at their satellite camp in SoCal on June 1, and CU has told him he could end up on either side of the ball if he chooses to commit to them. I'll have more in a front page update tomorrow morning.
