Detroit (Mich.) Dakota 2017 point guard Jermaine Jackson has a lot on his plate right now.
The senior star is trying to lead his high school basketball team to a state championship, and he has not made his college decision yet. Jackson did not sign during the early signing period back in November.
Although Jackson isn't naming any favorite schools at the moment, two schools seem to be keeping in touch with him more than others.
Jackson was recently offered by the Oakland Golden Grizzlies and is high on them. Colorado offered Jackson in January, and Jackson plans on taking official visits to both schools.
Creighton, Ohio State, Nebraska, and Utah have all expressed interest in Jackson as well.
"I really don't have a top five or anything like that," Jackson said. "More schools are coming, so probably after the season I will put on Twitter who my top five schools are."
Colorado assistant coach Mike Rohn is keeping in close contact with Jackson.
"He's came to see me practice," Jackson said. "The head coach [Tad Boyle] offered me, but coach Rohn is the one that came to see me for the first time. He's always checking up on me and asking when I should take an official visit. [Coach Jean Prioleau] came to see me a couple of weeks ago. He said he liked my game. They've been on me a lot."
Ever since the Buffs offered Jackson, he's been keeping an eye on CU's team.
"They just beat Cal, and they're a team that's improving in the Pac-12, which is one of the best conferences in college basketball," said Jackson. "I feel like it would be a good fit for me. I haven't been to Colorado yet, so when I take my official, I'll learn a lot more about them. I'm learning more about their program every day."
The basketball signing period begins April 12 and ends May 17. If Jackson's team makes a run in the state playoffs, it could stretch into late- March, but he still should have plenty of time to take official visits.
