I suppose no big surprise here. Until they prove differently, CU’s QB’s are viewed as the last place QB room in the Pac. This is from a Jon Wilner article run in the Seattle Times.
To help you avoid having to click on the link below, I have copied-and-pasted the info on CU and also listed their view of the rankings on Pac QB’s from 1 to 12, with both the projected starter and the top backup.
1. UCLA: Dorian Thompson-Robinson / Ethan Garbers
2. Utah: Cameron Rising / Bryson Barnes
3. USC: Caleb Williams / Miller Moss
4. Arizona: Jayden de Laura / Jordan McCloud
5. Washington: Michael Penix Jr. / Dylan Morris
6. Stanford: Tanner McKee / Ari Patu
7. Oregon: Bo Nix / Ty Thompson
8. ASU: Emory Jones / Trenton Bourget
9. WSU: Cam Ward / Xavier Ward
10. OSU: Chance Nolan / Ben Gulbranson
11. Cal: Jack Plummer / Kai Millner
12. CU: Brendon Lewis / JT Shrout
“Comment: The Buffaloes have not officially named Lewis the starter — that designation is merely our guess. No doubt, there is some gamesmanship at play in keeping the decision secret from the Week One opponent, TCU. But the situation underscores the fact that CU does not have a clear No. 1. Lewis was erratic last year as a freshman while Shrout, a Tennessee transfer, missed ’21 with a knee injury.”
Couple of items of interest to me:
* Sam Huard, a 5 star 2021 recruit (and son of Brock Huard), is apparently 3rd on the depth chart at UW for now.
* Emory Jones, a transfer from the Florida Gators, replaces Jayden Daniels, who is projected to start at LSU. Buffs fans are surely happy to finally see the last of Jayden Daniels.
* No, Jack Plummer is related to Jake “The Snake” Plummer.
