Fresh off a two-day weekend visit at Colorado, DeSoto (Texas) offensive guard Josh Jynes announced his commitment to the Buffs in a tweet on Tuesday afternoon.
"After praying about it and talking with my parents and coaches I have decided to commit to the University of Colorado," Jynes said.
On Sunday in an interview with CUSportsNation.com, Jynes said that it was too early for him to make a college commitment, but after some serious thought, Jynes reconsidered.
"I knew I was going to commit, but I didn't think it would be so soon," Jynes explained. "I talked with my family and thought it was best to go ahead and do it. It was just what felt right. My parents went up there with me and they enjoyed it."
Jynes called CU head coach Mike MacIntyre to let the staff know he wanted to commit.
"We talked about what they stand for and becoming a man on and off the field," said Jynes.
Jynes will be reunited with his cousin, KD Nixon, and high school teammate, Laviska Shenault, in Boulder when he enrolls at CU next year.
"That's going to be crazy to link up with them," Jynes said. "It's going to be something special."
The Buffs have already offered four other prospects from DeSoto High School in the class of 2018, and Jynes plans on recruiting them to Boulder.
"I'm going to try to get my boys to go up there - the twins, Byron (Hanspard), Ashton (Brooks), all of them," Jynes said.
Jynes started at center last season for DeSoto but hopes to get playing time at guard this season.
