There is a current thread about the ranking of the CU defense for next season. Most people hope we can step up to the 70-80 range in national rankings, which I agree with. However, it seems to me that striving to be the upper half of the rankings is a very reasonable and achievable goal on an annual basis for both the offense and defense. Question: what teams last year finished in the top 50% in both offense and defense? I'm betting the list is not all that long. Think about it, we could have a good, maybe great team, if all we had to achieve was to reach the top 50% every year. Common Buffs, that's not asking for too much, is it?
