Boulder, Colorado - The first practice is officially done with and the team was eager to get back on the field.
With such an experienced team this year, Coach MacIntyre is able to run practice more smoothly and they are really able to load practice up with more drills. It was easy to see that the team got back into the swing of things very quickly.
The main question everyone has to be wondering about is Sefo Liufau and how is first practice back went. Coach MacIntyre said Liufau, "Did well, he was able to go the entire practice," Coach MacIntyre. "No limping, throwing motion, nothing worried about pushing off the foot or landing on it, as far as all of that type of stuff goes there wasn't one hiccup".
Also a big question for the team is who is going to take the leadership role over at the wide receiver position.
Shay Fields debut his new number today at practice and said he is ready to take on the leadership role left by Nelson Spruce.
" I feel I'm ready to take the next step, he was the go to captain, so know I got to step into that role and the lead the young guys also," Fields after practice.
Lastly, Josh Tupou was able to get back on the field after missing last season. Coach MacIntyre was impressed with his movement and his happy to have him back out there. Tupou should make a big impact at the nose tackle position this season.
Colorado will hold their second practice on Friday, August 5th along with Football/Olympic Sports Media Day. Full coverage to follow on CUSportsNation.com.
