SAN FRANCISCO - Eight of the 12 seeds for the 2015 Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament were deter-mined on the final day of the Pac-12 regular season. The bracket is now set with the Pac-12 regular season champion ARIZONA Wildcats (28-3 overall, 16-2 in Pac-12 play) entering the event as the No. 1 seed for the second straight year.
The Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament takes place Wednesday-Saturday, March 11-14, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. A limited number of tickets are only available for Wednesday's ses-sions 1 and 2, and can be purchased online at pac-12.com/tickets. Tickets for the remaining sessions are sold out.
WASHINGTON knocked off UTAH (23-7, 13-5) Saturday, dropping the Utes into a tie with OREGON (23-8, 13-5) for second place in the league standings. The Ducks own the tiebreaker based on its victory over the Utes in the only head-to-head matchup between the two teams this season and garner the No. 2 seed. The Utes hold the No. 3 seed, while No. 4 UCLA (19-12, 11-7) rounds out the top four seeds.
ARIZONA STATE (17-14, 9-9) and STANFORD (18-12, 9-9) tied for fifth. The Sun Devils, who started Pac-12 play 0-4, grabbed the No. 5 seed based on the Pac-12's tie-break procedures. The Sun Devils and Cardinal split their series this year. The two teams then compare their record against the teams at the top of the stand-ings and work down through the standings until the tie is broken. In comparing their records against Arizona, Arizona State went 1-1 vs. the Wildcats, while Stanford went 0-2 vs. Wildcats. After the Sun Devils were slotted at No. 5, the Cardinal enter the Pac-12 Tournament as the No. 6 seed.
OREGON STATE (17-13, 8-10) is the No. 7 seed.
In a three-way tie for eighth place between CALIFORNIA (17-14, 7-11), COLORADO (14-16, 7-11) and WASHINGTON STATE (13-17, 7-11), the Golden Bears come out on top with the No. 8 seed. In the multi-team tie-breaking procedure, California owned the better collective head-to-head record (2-1) with Colorado (1-2) and Washington State (2-2). The head-to-head tie-break procedure was then used on Colorado and Washington State to determine the No. 9 seed. The teams split their season series. Their records were then compared vs. the teams at the top of the standings. Neither team defeated Arizona. Their records vs. the tied group of Utah and Oregon revealed the edge to the Cougars for the No. 9 seed as it went 1-3, compared to the Buffaloes 0-3 mark. Colorado fills the bracket at No. 10.
WASHINGTON (16-14, 5-13) and USC (11-19, 3-15) round out the Pac-12 Tournament bracket with the No. 11 and No. 12 seeds respectively.
The Pac-12 Networks will air eight games of the Tournament, including the first seven games, starting with first round action on Wednesday, March 11. Game times are 12:10 p.m. PT, 2:40 p.m. PT, 6:10 p.m. PT, and 8:40 p.m. PT
The Pac-12 Networks will carry the first three quarterfinal games on Thursday, March 12 at 12:10 p.m. PT, 2:40 p.m. PT, and 6:10 p.m. PT. ESPN will air the last quarterfinal that evening at 8:40 p.m. PT.
Semifinal action on Friday, March 13 tips off at 6:10 p.m. (P12N) and 8:45 p.m. (ESPN). The Pac-12 Cham-pionship will air on ESPN on Saturday, March 14 at 8:05 p.m.
