Hello Beloved Buff Friends and Supporters,
Wow, can you believe it? It's my 50th GFM update! I can't thank you enough for standing by me through thick and thin. It's like being on a rollercoaster ride, but with your unwavering support, it makes the loops and twists a bit more bearable!
So, let me regale you with the latest episode of "The Adventures of Craig and the Merry Go Round of Medical Issues." Strap yourselves in!
Last Monday was another whirlwind of scans and infusions at ATWFH (Adventures That Would Frighten Hercules). Everything started off with a bit of a hydration hiccup – apparently, I needed a "BIG BAG" because, you know, I'm just that special. They even checked my vitals, probably to make sure I was still as charming as ever, before starting the infusion. All seemed well until those pesky lab reports came back with a not-so-happy message from my kidneys. They're throwing a tantrum with high Creatinine and BUN levels and a CO2 level that's decided to go AWOL. Oh kidneys, why you gotta be like that?
Enter Dr. P, my superhero oncologist, who swooped in with marching orders for more blood work, STAT! Next morning, I was back in the hot seat, or rather, the phlebotomist's chair, for round two of bloodletting. Five vials later, they had what they needed – hopefully not all of my life force!
But fear not, my friends, for amidst the chaos, there were moments of solace and spiritual relief. My faithful chaplain performed the sacred sacrament of unction, anointing me with healing oils. I swear I felt lighter afterward – either that or it was the weight of all those vials of blood finally off my shoulders!
Then it was off to see my cardiologist who decided to throw a Renal Scan, Echocardiogram, and more blood work into the mix, topped with an urgent referral to the Nephrologist. Can't say I'm not getting the full medical buffet treatment!
Now for the silver lining in this cloud of medical drama – after four blood tests, the Creatinine and BUN levels are reluctantly inching downward, though still not quite hitting the "normal" mark. I've been given strict orders to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate – which, for someone who's never been a water bottle aficionado, is quite the challenge.
Looking ahead, I'm gearing up to meet the Nephrologist next week, undoubtedly with more tests on the horizon. But hey, let's keep the faith and the positive vibes flowing!
On a more serious note, while dialysis isn't on the immediate agenda, kidney issues are no joke. They're like the unsung heroes of our bodies, filtering out the gunk so the rest of the team can function properly. So, if you could spare an "atta boy" thumbs up and a sprinkle of healing prayers, I'd be forever grateful.
And for those feeling extra generous, the “DONATE” link is just a click away. Every little bit helps as I navigate this unexpected twist in the adventure. Click here https://gofund.me/d3d433d8
With heartfelt thanks and a kidney-shaped balloon of gratitude, Go Buffs!
