Merry Christmas!
Dear Amazing Supporters,
Greetings from the trenches of my own little battlefield against advanced stage 4 terminal cancer! As 2023 takes its final bow, I come bearing updates that are as unpredictable as my cat's mood swings.
First things first - drumroll, please! The latest cancer scans have declared, "No new growth, folks!" It's like my rebellious cells decided to take a vacation or perhaps attend a support group for wayward cells. So, hooray for stability! My diagnosis remains unchanged, though – I'm like the James Bond of chronic illnesses, always on the edge but somehow pulling off the impossible.
Now, let's talk about this heaviness in my soul. It's not quite the holiday weight gain I was hoping for, but here it is, expressing itself with the subtlety of a rock concert in my soul. Tiredness, fatigue, malaise – my new trio of unwanted companions. It's like having the flu, but without the comforting bowl of chicken soup.
And, oh, the medical bills! They're like the uninvited guests who never leave. If my illness were a movie, it would be a never-ending sequel with an absurdly high budget. If only Hollywood knew my story!
On a lighter note, my recent dance with gravity resulted in a mild concussion. You know, just to keep things interesting. Sensitivity to noise and light, frustration, and a dash of irritability – it's like my brain decided to throw a party and invited all the quirky symptoms. But fear not, I've been assured that this is just my brain's way of saying, "Hey, I need a spa day."
As I embark on my quiet Christmas plans – rest, prayers, and a deep gratitude for the gift of life – I find myself praying for one more trip around the sun. Fingers crossed, right?
Your thoughts, prayers, and support continue to be my lifeline. You're the heroes in my story, and I'm eternally grateful. May your holiday season be spiritually rich, and may the New Year bring you joy, and health.
Sending you blessings and laughter,
Craig Brown (NCBUFF)
