The JuCo inside linebacker will officially visit Colorado this weekend.
I expect him to commit if all goes as planned for him. He is working with CU on his academic situation but it should work out fine. There could be a possibility of Perry getting to Colorado earlier than this summer but we'll see.
He would be a junior with a redshirt year available (three for two).
Perry has taken official visits to UTSA, Hawaii, and Old Dominion.
The Buffs have not officially offered him a scholarship yet, but once that happens and he's all good on the academic/eligibility front, Perry should be a Buff.
As a player, Perry is a good looking inside linebacker (and punter). JCGridiron.com -- the most respected website that covers JuCo recruits -- ranks Perry as the No. 5 JuCo ILB recruit in the nation.
From JCGridiron:
Although Southern California has never been a hotbed for inside linebackers, El Camino’s Quinn Perry is the third in the rankings from the National Division in Southern California as he comes in at No. 5 in the rankings. Perry stands 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds and finished with 67 tackles, 9.5 tackles-for-loss and five sacks this past season with the Warriors. He has offers from Hawaii, UTSA, New Mexico, Old Dominion and a handful of others as we head into the late signing period, with some interest being shown by Colorado. Perry took a visit to Old Dominion in November, and Hawaii and UTSA in December. He’s a former rugby player, which tells you a bit about his toughness. On film it all comes out, as Perry isn’t afraid to stick his head into a pile. He’s got great feet, explosive quickness and solid tackling skills. Whoever gets this guy is landing a good one!
