Moretti - First and foremost, we need this guy healthy. This will be year 2 for him with this injury healed. Looking at the Cowboys Jaylon Smith, he might be 100% ready to go next year. He could be a big part of our OL's revival next year.
Lynott - Like Moretti, year 2 post injury. We expected too much from him too early and he was awful to say the least early on. Year 2 post surgery, he should be a lot better.
Roddick - He is supposed to be full go this spring and hopefully with that time and the summer conditioning, he'll be ready to play in 2019. We need this massive mauler out there sooner than later. We miss having a guy who can just move people wherever he wants them to be.
Ray - Admittedly, I really wanted to see him play this year and thought he might be available later in the year. Not sure where they are at with that, but Ray is a big dude. He already has a well put together upper body. With his lower body issues behind him, I assume his lower body will catch up. Like Roddick, should be available this spring and then we'll have an amazing interior lineman prospect available for the fall.
All 4 of these guys could end up starters. This in addition to the hopeful improvement in skill and S&C from Filip, Pursell, Haigler, Sherman, and Kutsch gives me some hope for 2019 on offense. Finally having a good OL coach to help these guys along will make such a difference. Add in our new JUCO guard Sauvao, and we should have 10 guys in the 2 deep who could start for us.
LT - Sherman, Filip
LG - Sauvao, Kutsch
C - Pursell, Roddick
RG - Lynott, Ray
RT - Haigler, Moretti
Could flip any number of those positions. We have some prospects to work with. We just need these guys to work hard in the off season and then compete like crazy in the fall for the new coach. The new OL coach will do a much better job in the run game blocking and the new OC will know what he is doing to get these guys in the right scheme.
