Colorado hosted a summer camp this past weekend, which is why official visits are starting today instead of on say Friday or Saturday. At any rate, as was the case earlier this month with the first wave of official visitors, this current group features uncommitted targets as well as commits.

The first commit in town is Texas tailback AJ Newberry, who committed in April following a previous unofficial visit to Boulder.

Joining Newberry is d-end pledge Kam'ron Bizor, the inaugural commit for CU's 2023 class, joining the fold on New Year's Eve. Bizor also was on the receiving end of a rankings bump recently; he now is a 5.7RR, just below 4-star status.

Looking at the uncommitted pledges, d-end Jarra Anderson is in town. You may recall previous sit-reps on him that I posted about; Gerald Chatman recruited Anderson during his brief tenure at Tulane and the two have stayed in touch since then, with Chatman continuing to recruit him after settling down at CU. Anderson recently visited Kansas, too.

I'd say out of all the DLs on Chatman's radar currently, he's progressed the furthest with Anderson.

We also have Texas (Southlake Carroll) OL Drew Perez in town. Southlake is a Texas powerhouse program that Mark Smith is very familiar with. He's been tag-teaming Perez's recruitment along with Kyle DeVan.

Texas cornerback Taylor Starling is also coming to CU for an OV today. There currently is a FutureCast pick in for him right now and personally, I get the sense that he could be right on the verge of committing to Colorado by the end of this visit. The Buffs are definitely in the lead with him.
