Was wondering how Mains got here. Looked like he was going division II a couple of years ago, but ended up going to Air Force Prep, probably trying to get into the academy. Transferred to CU, got a chance to tryout, and made the squad as a walk on. Was pretty bouncy in his film. Good size for a post player and sounds like he'll be good competition in practice.

Pease got a lot of accolades in Texas. Was player of the year in his district. Said he would be division I if he were taller. Been hurt so hasn't been able to practice. Has the speed and athleticism of a DI player though so he will be another good small guard in our lineup when healthy. Wants to be a coach so he's likely to stay here the whole time. Was headed to West Texas A&M before walking onto CU. For those that don't know, West Texas A&M is a powerhouse in division II basketball. They lost in the Division II championship game last year. You have to be good to get recruited there so Pease, at the very least, will be at least as good as Isaac Jessup whom he replaces and likely better (based on high school accolades and choices of schools).

I found the comments on Loughlin and Miller the most interesting though.

From Rohn:
"Now Will, he could be a scholarship guy. He could play at a lot of Division I schools across the country. And Amondo was an all-state player and he’s looked good out here.”

High praise for Will Loughlin. Seems like he can fit right into the role vacated by Alexander Strating, except he's bigger at 6'10" and 250#. Amondo was a late bloomer and just had a break out senior year. I think if he were a junior last year, he would be getting some looks as a scholarship player from schools for the November signing period. A 6'6" wing with more athleticism than an Owen Koonce. Both of these guys might give us a little bit of insurance if catastrophe happens. I wonder about Amondo though. If he went JUCO, he could have been a Maddox Daniels type recruit at least. Same body type. Hope he stays around. Unusually strong addition as a walk on. Isn't lacking in size or athleticism for his position.

With such a small front court (just 4 front court players this year), we may have to give spot minutes to Loughlin at some point in a Strating type role. Just come in, play defense, and be in the right place.
