CU was up 24-16 and got a critical interception of Wilson which looked like a game changing play. It was the kind of play we had not made all season. Of course, the refs spent 5 minutes reviewing it and decided to overturn it. All replays show the ball never hit the ground and no way was there clear evidence to turn it. Nevertheless, refs overturned it and gave Utah back the ball for a 4th down punt. With CU reeling and seething at the mouth, Utah ran a fake punt and kept the possession. They would score and bring the score within 2.
Utah would get the lead later with a score, but CU came back with a huge TD pass to Spruce. Utah would cut it to 3 with a field goal and then the wheels fell off. Sefo threw a pick 6 on the very next possession to give Utah the lead for good (a familiar tune at this point). CU couldn't stop Utah on their last possession to get the ball back for 1 more desperate drive. DeVontae Booker ran for 12 yards on 3rd and 9.

Utah 38
CU 34

I hope that is the last time we have to deal with this kind of disappointment against those guys. We've always had them where we wanted them, only to see them escape somehow for a victory. It's either a special teams play or a pick (or both). While Utah is good, they are as beatable as they have ever been. Big problems at LB and they lack speed in the secondary. Offensively, they can hit you with the big play, but if you keep them in front of you, they have a hard time reaching pay dirt. If the OL plays well along with special teams, this should be a 14 - 17 point victory.
