Colorado Springs (CO) Vista Ridge defensive tackle Jalen Sami's recruitment changed drastically as he reported that he earned an offer from Colorado. The 6-foot-6, 320-pounder officially visited Colorado over the weekend.
According to Sami, Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre offered him a scholarship during the official visit.
"He said they've offered me a scholarship," Sami said. "It's just whatever scenarios happen from now until the fall - if I'm ready to start then or have to start later.
"Coach MacIntyre said that he wants me to sign on February 1st saying that you're coming to CU."
Sami told CUSportsNation.com that he would be talking with his family about committing to Colorado, and they came to their decision late on Monday night. Sami announced his commitment to the Colorado Buffaloes.
"I'm glad to announce that I will be continuing my education and football career at CU Boulder!" Sami tweeted.
As far as his official visit itself, Sami had a great time.
"The highlights for me were the faculty, coaching staff, and the players. It was a pretty family based environment," said Sami.
Will Sami be on scholarship or will he grey shirt? According to a source close to the situation, it will "depend on how the numbers fall."
We will keep you all updated regarding this.
