They are late to the party IMHO. But what I thought was interesting was the areas that they are concentrating their recruiting resources. I'd heard of these towns and high schools, but had no idea where they were located in the state:

Where in Texas are they recruiting?

Primarily the Huskies
are doing their work in the Dallas and Houston metro areas. Lots of the
top prospects in those cities live in surrounding rural or suburban
areas like Arlington, Mesquite and Plano in the case of the former and
Missouri City, Humble and other places around Houston.

These are
metro areas with enormous amounts of talent. Concentrating their
recruiting efforts in two main locations allows UW coaches to maximize
their time, energy and resources. It allows them to more easily build
relationships with many different high school coaches and players. Word
of mouth travels more quickly about the program that way, especially if
you can get the ball rolling with a couple of commitments.

Maybe some of these Texas kids will end up as Buffs:

So who are some of Washington's top targets in Texas?

This
is where it gets a little tricky. Normally early in the process you
have a better feel for what local prospects really like you. It's not
until the summer or the fall, when players travel long distances for
camps and official visits, when you really find out which not-so-close
players are serious about your school.

However, the following players seem to have genuine interest in Washington beyond the mere generic gratitude after an offer:

DE Michael Badejo of Arlington (Tex.) Timberview
WR Kofi Boateng of Arlington (Tex.) Lamar
DB Raleigh Texada of Frisco (Tex.) Centennial
DT Joseph Wallace of Dallas (Tex.) Skyline
LB Clifton Lewis of Fort Bend (Tex.) Hightower
DB Obi Eboh of Southlake (Tex.) Carroll
ATH Aubrey White, formerly committed to Kansas, of Wylie (Tex.) East
