This morning was the last time Karl Dorrell will meet with reporters before Friday's game. Below is everything he had to say, much of it pertaining to prepping for UNC even though the Bears don't have a lot of film, while head coach Ed McCaffrey prepares for his first collegiate game in charge.
I also wanted to comment on the depth chart that was recently released and it below, too. Personally, while there obviously is a lot of truth to the depth chart, I believe there's a good deal there below that's meant as much of a curveball to UNC.
Notably, none of CU's transfers landed this winter and spring are listed as starters. While I could definitely see Marvin Ham and Quinn Perry starting at LB on Friday, I'd be utterly shocked if Robert Barnes and Jack Lamb don't see extended action.
I don't think there's any smoke and mirrors going on when it comes to how the secondary is listed, but Chris Miller's absence does raise an eyebrow. Nickel is simply not a position listed, which could be on purpose.
I am interested to see how the whole 4-3 dynamic plays out, with Carson Wells and many of the OLBs now being listed as DEs. We'll have to see how that plays out.
Noah Fenske vanishing fm the depth chart at center is also mysterious; we'd heard he had been the No. 2 guy there throughout fall camp, so I certainly hope that isn't indicative of an injury.
