Spoke with three-star wide receiver Jordan Williams recently and he was kind enough to break down his unofficial visit to CU last weekend as well as shed some light on how the Buffs have been recruiting him.
As I note in the story below, Williams is going to be a package deal situation. If the Buffs want him, they'll also probably need to land his teammate and friend, three-star 2022 DT Dejon Roney. Luckily on that note, Colorado and Chris Wilson have been recruiting Roney pretty hard, too.
It's a bit too early to call at this point, but I for one am starting to feel increasingly confident that both guys might very well end up pledging to Colorado before all's said and done. Both guys seem to want to commit to the same school during the December signing period.
I didn't use it as a direct quote in the story, but upon asking Williams which programs were coming at him the hardest, he said Fresno State and UCLA (other than CU). That leads me to believe that most of the rest of his Pac-12 offers, for whatever reasons — don't want to over-speculate here as opposed to give my own hunch — aren't committable.
Wrapping up, as I have alluded to, I think CU should feel pretty good about where things stand right now with Williams and by association, Roney. I have been trying to track down Roney for some time. He's a bit elusive but I'm hoping to get him on the phone here soon.
