Alex Fontenot, Deion Smith and Jayle Stacks are CU's only scholarship tailbacks this spring, with Sam Houston grad transfer Ramon Jefferson and 2022 signee Victor Venn set to join the mix this summer.

Despite a small room, Hagan has been pleased with what his guys are doing so far this spring. Hagan described Fontenot as a guy that really doesn't require too much coaching at this point in his career, and as for Stacks, Hagan was confident that he'll be seen more this upcoming season.

I definitely am among the chorus of people wanting to see Stacks utilized more due to his unique frame: fullback, H-back, goal line, some more handoffs — I'm all for Stacks getting more reps with the offense and per Hagan, it appears Stacks is embracing his role as a Swiss army knife.

Will be interesting to see how things develop once Jefferson gets to Boulder. Lot of football under his belt at the highest level of FCS. I'd think he's going to be hungry to prove himself but then again, Fontenot is not going to part with his own reps without a fight. Should make for good competition heading into fall camp.
