. . . for the uninitiated, Dan Carlin's "Hardcore History" podcast might be best history program in all of recorded media. If you're a history buff and you haven't listened, you're missing out. It's incredible.
Carlin is a guest on the "Solid Verbal" CFB podcast recently released and his opinions mirror what most of think of this realignment business. Even better: Dan Carlin is a CU-Boulder grad and is a huge CU sports fan and college football fanatic. How much of of fan? He went to the Minnesota and USC games last year at Folsom. And lived to tell about it. Lots of CU related talk on the podcast.
Carlin sounds a lot like DTown (and me) if you gave us an hour to spout off on college football and where this is all headed. Bottom line: everything that is great about college football - the regional rivalries and game day traditions - is being destroyed by ESPN and FOX in the name of profits. And that - if unchecked - will kill the sport as we know it.
It's a great listen.
