OK, I can't wait for the season to start - waiting is killing me so ...

since we're 10 days away from game #1 I decided to post the Buffs Moving Up in the Record Books, pre-season edition.

The following Buffs ended their careers last fall. Here is where they are seated in the all-time Buffs record book.

Tony Jones is 37th in all-time rushing yards.

Tony Jones is 19th in all-time receptions.

Tony Jones is 60th in all-time receiving yards.

Tyler McCulloch is 20th in all-time receptions.

Tyler McCulloch is 21st in all-time receiving yards.

Darragh O’Neill ended up 1st in all-time punting yards – a record likely never to be broken as he has nearly 3,000 more punting yards than the next player on that list.

Greg Henderson is tied for 51st in all-time tackles.

Greg Henderson is 3rd in all-time pass deflections.

Terrel Smith is tied with Sean Tufts for 70th in all-time tackles.

Brady Daigh is 9th in all-time special team points (not sure how that stat is determined).

Will Oliver really had an impressive career. He ended up in 2nd place all-time in scoring only 28 points behind Mason Crosby’s all-time record.

Not surprisingly, Will also is in 2nd place in all-time scoring as a kicker.

As for our returning Buffs, here is where they presently sit in the all-time record books.

Ken Crawley is 14th in all-time pass deflections.

Chidobe Awuzie is tied for 41st in all-tie pass deflections.

Addison Gillam is tied for 67th in all-time tackles.

Marques Mosley, who I don’t think has returned a kick since his freshman year, still sits in 19th place in all-time kickoff return yards.

Phillip Lindsay is in 12th place in all-time kickoff return yards.

Phillp Lindsay starts the season 108th in all-time rushing yards.

Ryan Severson, who I don’t think served in that role last year, is still in 9th place in all-time kickoff return yards.

Nelson Spruce enters the season in 20th place in all-time yards from scrimmage; 26th in all-time all-purpose yards; tied for 35th in all-time scoring; 2nd in all-time receptions and only needs 11 to break Scotty McKnight’s all-time record; and 6th in all-time receiving yards needing only 255 yards to break Michael Westbrook’s all-time record.

Shay Fields ended his freshman campaign in 74th place in all-time receiving yards and tied with 48th with Bobby Purify for all-time receptions.

Christian Powell starts his senior year in 23rd place in all-time rushing yards needing 299 to reach 2,000 all-time; he is tied for 94th place with, among others, Eric Bieniemy in all-time receptions; he is tied with Marlon Barnes, Lee Rouson, Sal Aunese among others for 60th place in all-time scoring.

Michael Atkins II is 54th in all-time rushing yards needing 67 yards to hit 1,000 for his career.

Bryce Bobo is 102nd in receptions. With only 10 receptions he would move into a tie for 80th place so he should move up considerably this year.

Sefo Liufau begins his junior season in 24th place in all-time gross rushing yards (before sacks) for QB's; he is 6th all-time in passing yards and needs only 21 yards to hit 5,000 all-time; he is 3rd all-time in TD passes and needs five more to pass Joel Klatt and 25 to break Cody Hawkins all-time record; he is 5th all-time in passing attempts; 4th all-time in completions and 7th all-time in total offense.

Two Buffs also set all-time single game records:

In our game against Cal Sefo set the single game record for passing attempts, completions, TD passes, total offense and offensive attempts. He was 46-67 with 7 TD passes. He had 77 offensive attempts to accumulate 527 total yards of offense. His 455 passing yards was 4th highest ever by a Buff. Coincidentally, Tyler Hansen holds the season game passing yards mark of 474 also against Cal in 2011.

Nelson Spruce’s 19 receptions against Cal is an all-time single game record for a Buff and he broke his previous record of 13 set the week before against Hawaii (matched later in our game against UDub). His 3 TD receptions against Cal tied a single game record shared with Richard Johnson against KU in 1982 and Rae Carruth against Iowa State in 1996.

Here's to hoping the 2015 season sees several Buffs moving up (considerably) in the all-time Buff record book.
