Brendon Lewis and JT Shrout both rung the same bell when asked to break down what their opening experience has been in Mike Sanford's new offense: there's a lot more room for the QB to make adjustments at the LOS based off of defensive looks.
It's so early, which makes it hard to really diagnose things with respect to looking at the offense in general, but, per Shrout, Lewis and Karl Dorrell, so far so good.
Here's what Shrout said about the offense:
“I’m loving it so far. It’s very quarterback-centered. There’s a lot of control and a lot of elements that we have to take ownership for and really understand in order for us to function and execute well on the field. I think we’re going to be pretty multiple and there’s a lot of elements from the different offenses (Sanford) has been in. There’s some stuff that I have been a part of and some new stuff that I haven’t, so just learning it and mastering it over the next few months up until fall camp is going to be huge for us and all the quarterbacks.”
The implementation of Mike Sanford's new offense begins on a smooth note
