Planto (Texas) High's Brandon Stephens, the nation's 20th ranked running back recruit, has been impossible to get on the phone for an update following his unofficial visit to Boulder this past weekend, but I've heard from a trusted source he is currently highest on Colorado and Alabama. His other finalists are Texas, Texas A&M, Washington and Stanford. He also claims offers from Ohio State and Wisconsin.
This is a text message Stephens sent to me about Colorado prior to his unofficial visit: "I just have a great relationship with my recruiter, [defensive line] coach [Jim] Jeffcoat. It's not about the name of the school, it's about who I'll be around for four years, as well as my opportunity and education, of course."
Here is something interesting, though... Stephens wants to play cornerback in college.
