I have been meaning to do a write-up on Boulder High running back Todd Jones for a long time now but I was never able to track down the 2016 recruit. So today I reached out to his head coach, Robert Simmons, who updated his situation. Jones is a 6-foot-1.5, 200-pounder that can squad 455 and bench 295, per his coach. "He has got exceptional leg strength and exceptional running ability," Simmons said. "He had a great year last year as a junior making all-state. At one point he led the state in rushing yards and kickoff return yards. He is a very talented individual, very likeable individual and an exceptional recruit." Montana has offered and a number of other schools - including CU, UCLA, Kansas, Wyoming, CSU and Nebraska - have been by to evaluate him. "They are waiting for him to get some things together academically with his core [GPA], which I know he'll get taken care of," Simmons explained. Jones has taken multiple unofficial visits to CU and he plans to attend both of the Buffs' camps in Boulder this month. I'm anxious to get a closer look at him at those camps. Jones is being recruited mostly as a running back but has also played some safety for Boulder and could potentially factor into a different position in college. He has a couple highlight reels from his junior season up on Hudl: Reel 1, Reel 2.
