As the sun sets on Booker's CU career, here are my thoughts:
Love him or hate him, kids like Booker are the heart and soul of college BB. College hoops is truly nothing more than entertainment with a personal association for the fan. And in that regard, kids like Booker are why you tune in and watch. He is the kind of player than makes you leap out your chair and pump your fist when he drains a clutch 3 and he makes you pull your hair out with 2-15 shooting nights and dribbling of his foot turnovers.
If I was to make a list of what I want to tune in and cheer for, for my beloved alma mater, it is this:
1. Play with passion, heart and effort - Booker: check
2. Play 4 years: Booker: Check
3. Exhibit exciting skill level - Booker: Check
4. Make memorbale plays - Booker: Check
5. Be a key part of winning and success - Booker - Check
6. Make runs at the CU record book - Booker: Check
7. Be a good kid and stay out of trouble - Booker: check
8. Have a fun personality and backstory - Booker: Check
9. Make a lasting impression on the culture of CU hoops - Booker: Check
10. Play up to your potential, even if your potential isn't what we would have hoped - Booker: check
I will remember the last 4 years and the CU teams that played and went to 3 NCAA tourney's, in large part, as Booker's teams..he will be remembered as a good CU Buff player, and exciting CU buff player and good kid. Can't ask more than that.
