Along with Erik Olsen, who is committing on the Fourth of July, four-star CB Jamier Johnson also approaches his decision day, which will be Friday.
On the note of Olsen, there are currently five Rivals FutureCast picks in for him landing at Colorado. As we saw with Clay Millen, the FutureCast picks aren't everything and/or perfect, but as of now, things look good with him. But once more, using Millen as an example, nothing ultimately matters until decision day and the corresponding announcement.
Johnson's been hard to pin down. I laughed recently when a Rivals colleague of mine referred to him as a "shadow agent" due to the complete lack of evidence or hints out there as to where he's leaning. He's a quiet one for sure, adding to the intrigue around him.
In April, he named a Top 7: Colorado, Nebraska, USC, Ohio State, Oregon, ASU and Texas.
I'm hearing the USC and Nebraska are out on this one, leaving the remaining aforementioned options, including CU. He's gonna be a tough one to get a feel for until he makes his decision public, but who knows, in a perfect world, by the end of the weekend, Colorado's 2021 class very well might be looking a hell of a lot more beefed up.
The Buffs are looking good with Olsen and despite Johnson being an essential question mark, Colorado is certainly in the final mix for him. Time for Meat Martin to reel in a marlin off the line!
