The interesting part is that about a calendar year ago, then-tight ends coach Bryan Cook informed Metzger's coaching staff at Regis Jesuit that Colorado would not be offering him. Fast forward to the hiring of a near completely new offensive staff, and Clay Patterson appears to view Metzger in a very different light.

The Buffs offered him yesterday while hosting him on an unofficial visit. Air Force offered him tonight, and KU, Nevada, Eastern Michigan and Ohio are some of the other programs to have done so to date, too.

Funny how things change, with respect to new coaches and how they evaluate differently. Nothing against Cook, but he'd never coached tight ends in his career before being tapped as TEs coach by Dorrell for the 2021 season. Patterson obviously has a different background, so that does provide some evidence that perhaps Patterson's evaluation of Metzger is to be trusted over his predecessor's.

At any rate, it is always interesting hearing stories like that. As Metzger says below, I bet that was a pretty sad moment when he heard last year that the state's flagship institution was passing on him. Not the case anymore. I see more offers coming young Andrew's way in the near future.
