After landing RB Victor Venn and LB Aubrey Smith this past cycle (both of whom are set to join the Buffs this summer), Colorado has eyes on another Buford Wolves player: 2023 linebacker Ryan McKinnis, a three-star prospect who named CU in a Top 10 today.
Interesting blend of programs within his tops list. I posted recently about Cherry Creek and St. Thomas Aquinas, with the Buffs going after several prospects at each school, both of which have captured three consecutive state titles at their respective levels, (5A for the Bruins, 7A for the Raiders).
Buford is cut of the same cloth; the Wolves are three-time defending state champs at the Georgia Class 6A level.
As far as McKinnis' recruitment is going, one has to assume Smith has been a particularly strong resource, given the two play the same position and now have a shot to continue their football careers together at Colorado.
McKinnis was out in Boulder this spring unofficially, so on the whole, his familiarity with the Buffs program/coaches should be pretty strong by now.
