Jeff Tedford has coached successfully at the power five level. I believe he is the winningest coach in Cal history. He has hired and managed an entire staff, coaches, weight trainers, etc. He knows what it takes to win at this level.
Let's assume the next coach gets CU back on the winning track. At age 57, I would think he is far more likely to stay at CU for the rest of his coaching career. Partially because the big name schools will be less likely to pursue older coaches.
I think we have the players to be very competitive for the next couple of years. If we can win immediately. There is every reason to feel confident we can build a pipeline to continued success.
He might not be the flashy, upcomer, people get excited about. I think he would be a solid choice, though.
