1. Ease off Sefo Liufau - He continues to prove time and time again that he can lead Colorado to victory. In Saturday evening’s 49-24 victory over Arizona, Liufau was 19 of 27 passing for 213-yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Heat was coming his way all night and he still managed to make big plays, he even ran the football 17 times for 56-yards and a score. In the last two games he’s ran the football 41 times. No quarterback is perfect, Sefo is far from perfect, but he delivers and when the offense stalls there are many variables, it’s just not him on the field and he’s not the offensive coordinator either.
2. Phillip Lindsay is 63-yards away from 1,000-yards - Saturday Night Lindsay ran for 119-yards and scored 3 touchdowns. His season total through 10 games is 937-yards off 143 carries for 13 touchdowns.
3. Shay Fields balled out - Someone from the receiving corps is always going to turn it up and this game it was Fields who had 6 receptions for 108-yards and 2 touchdowns. He’s a proven deep ball threat and he’s a match up problem weekly. On the year he’s caught for 602-yards and 6 touchdowns of just 34 receptions.
4. Offensive Line woes - Arizona sent the blitz all night long and at times it looked like the Wildcats were overpowering the offensive line. The flu has hit the Buffs and some were sick before and during the game, but it seems as though Stanford, UCLA, and even Arizona had their way with the Colorado Offensive Line. Is there any adjustments that can be made? Likely not, these are the linemen Colorado has and most PAC 12 defensive linemen are better. This is on the offensive coordinators to start scheming to get the football out quicker. Or figure out a way to get heat off Sefo. He’s been taking a pounding lately.
5. The resurgence of the Offense - It was great to see the offense put so many points on the board following the last two games where the offense seemed vanilla and just flat in general. Sefo made some great throws with plenty of touch, receivers did their job, and Phillip got his touches, even busted out a 34-yard run late in the game. What is concerning about Colorado is the fact that they leave their most valuable players in throughout entire games. Sefo played until the 3-minute mark as did Phillip Lindsay.
