The killer number this past season for CU basketball is 14.4. That's the average number of turnovers per game by our team. That puts us as the 347th worst team in America, the very worst turnover record among all Power Five basketball leagues, the worst among those 79 teams.
It is unacceptable. With a even just a mid-level turnover rate, CU would have finished with a winning record.
This is on Tad. It was a problem even when facing third-class non-con opponents, not just in the Big-12. It revolves around (1) not having an accomplished point guard to control the action, (2) not having the ball-handling talent to compete at the highest levels, (3) not concentrating enough in practice on reducing turnovers, and (4) not adjusting the offense to a style that produces fewer turnovers among less ball-handling-talented players.
Unacceptable.
