What our friends at the Georgia site are hearing about Deion Sanders and Colorado ...

The publisher of our Georgia site is hearing buzz that makes him think Deion Sanders is taking the Colorado job. If that happens, he expects Texas A&M's Nick Williams to come on as D-line coach. Williams was at Georgia previously, is a young coach who is respected as a strong recruiter.

Again, just passing along the buzz Radi Nabulsi, from our Georgia site, is hearing.

USF transfer receiver has CU in top 4

USF transfer receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. has included Colorado on his list of finalists heading toward a Christmas decision. Texas A&M, Penn State and Houston are the other members of his top group of four schools. Horn entered the portal within the last week and will look to play out the remainder of his career elsewhere. He's a Florida native from Sanford, Florida and will have two years of remaining eligibility at his next stop.

This season he played in 11 games and caught 37 passes for 551 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns. He also contributed in the running game with 95 yards rushing and a rushing score plus he had 209 yards returning kicks that included an 89-yard kickoff that was returned for a touchdown.

Buffs will stand a great chance here with Horn as he has the Florida connections to Deion Sanders.

Rivals currently has Horn rated as a high three-star transfer.

CFP picks and bowl lineup

Here is where ESPN sees things as the seasons ends.
This is a fun playoff this year and the NY6 bowls look great. Going to be a fun couple weeks of ball. Love to see UM win it all but feels like UGA is destined this year.

After that it is just a lot of really boring matchups with no rhyme or reason between mediocre teams. It’s a bad bowl season outside those CFP and NY6 games.

The 12 team and hopefully eventual 16 playoff will help make this better in the future with more games between good teams longer as those who don’t make it will still include some good teams and bowls will need to have more sensible matchups between teams to draw interest. This might clean up an otherwise long snooze fest pre NY6.
I’d still love to see a G5 playoff at some point for the other bowls. Would be a blast.

Can’t wait for end of December for more great college ball.

New member...sorta

I'm back on Rivals after about a ~15 year absence...I forgot my password so I don't get all my Ralow posts from 20+ years ago but oh well. Couldn't beat the $22/yr subscription offer. I see some familiar OG names from WAY back in the AZ Freidman days LOL. Hope to read all the scoop re: recruits here!

Also hoping Coach Prime is the one who finally returns the Buffs to glory...although I fear that if he does, he will bounce for the NFL or another program. But beggars can't be choosy!

Go Ahead and Spike the Ball, Rick George...

....you earned it.

From arguably the worst hire in CU history to....well, whatever the hell this is, CU is back on the map virtually overnight. And this doesn't happen unless the admins got strong- armed on the academic side. Quickly.

Yes, RG owns the Dorrell hire. And I bashed the hell out of him for it . But he owns this too. 2 months ago, the 5 most improbable, unbelievable, ridiculous, bizarre, "get the F outta here" words in the English language were "Deion Sanders - CU Head Coach". Now I've seen everything.

Will it work? We're 1-11. It'll work.

Everybody loves a redemption story. And this is a good one. Well done Rick George.

Official

I’m excited to announce that we have hired Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders as the 28th full-time head football coach at the University of Colorado.

Coach Prime is a nationally prominent figure who will provide an unprecedented lift to our football program and our university and will instantly make the Colorado Buffaloes a force to be reckoned with on the national stage.

Coach comes to CU Boulder after an incredibly successful three years as head coach at Jackson State, where he went 27-5, won back-to-back Southwestern Athletic Conference titles earning him back-to-back SWAC Coach of the Year honors, and in 2021 he won the Eddie Robinson Award as the season’s Football Championship Subdivision coach of the year. He is also a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame after a 14-year career in the NFL, the College Football Hall of Fame, and spent nine years playing Major League Baseball.

Beyond those impressive accomplishments, Coach is a charismatic motivator whose passion and enthusiasm for his student-athletes will make him a great fit for CU Boulder.

We will officially introduce Coach at a press conference on Sunday, December 4 at 1:30 p.m. You can watch the press conference live on CUBuffs.com or via social media.

I greatly appreciate your continued support of Colorado Athletics and hope you will join me in welcoming Coach Prime to the CU family. Go Buffs!

Sincerely,

Rick George

Dear Ralph,

You have been an amazing supporter of CU athletics and, as we all know, are quite handsome. I digress. I’m excited to announce that we have hired Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders as the 28th full-time head football coach at the University of Colorado.

COMMITMENT: 2024 WR Daijon Calimon headed to CU

2024 California receiver Daijon Calimon has committed to Colorado today becoming the first pledge in the class for the Buffs. Calimon holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado State and Nevada. He plays on both sides of the ball, but he shows more promise on offense as a receiver. He has good size and could play either outside or inside depending on what the offense looks like moving forward. This is another Armond Hawkins win as he is a big part of why Calimon committed today. I do think this also has a lot to do with the Deion Sanders rumors and don't think he will be the last recruit who tries to jump on board before the arrival of CU's next head coach.

He's a solid player and someone I'd expect to see more offers come his way by the time the spring arrives. He visited CU back in the spring, and since that time the Buffs have been a big part of his recruitment.

More smoke...special CU regents meeting tomorrow morning regarding Deion Sanders contract.

At this point, this is either a done deal or we are getting punked.
