Oscar Rios is one of the top West Coast quarterbacks drawing interest from programs around the country. He has continued to gain attention since backing off his early commitment to Purdue in the fall, and Colorado is one of the newest teams to get involved with the high three-star recruit from California. Pat Shurmur stopped by Downey High School just before the February dead period and offered Rios, and that quickly led to an official visit being set up for late June.

CU Women Fall to TCU 69-62 In third round of Big-12 Tourney

Scrapping, clawing, and keeping it close, the women fell to #1 seed, and 8th ranked TCU. TCU had 2 byes, and were well-rested, while this was CU's third game in 3 days, and and they were still missing Frida Foremann, due to the foot stress fracture, and another key, normally starting, player. TCU is very, very talented, and deep, with a number of very highly ranked, and well-paid transfers on their roster. CU did well to hang close, and make a good game of it. Could the two wins, and close defeat, put them back on the NCAA bubble? It might be close, but unless a few other bubble teams go down, I'm betting they're out. Considering that it was practically a whole new roster, tons of missed games, with injured key players, and playing several freshmen, (who are going to be very good), a bunch, down the stretch, it was a pretty darn good, 20-win season, (20-12) and another good coaching job by JR & staff. There is an alternative women's tourney, similar to the NIT, so maybe they get into that, and hopefully host a game in Boulder. That would be a pretty nice reward for the team, and more tourney experience, for the younger players.
